At the Congregational Meeting on June 8, the Congregation voted to make available to the Property Management Ministry Team up to $172,000 from the Parking Lot proceeds to address the recommendations that came out of a Reserve Study done this spring. These are almost all media or building related needs/upgrades to our facilities. The funds will continue to be invested in a low risk account with Vangard and the oversight for this fund will continue to be managed by the Finance, Endowment and Administration Ministry Team, Church Council and Church Tresurer, Penny Beers.
In addition, several suggestions were proposed on how to address the budget shortfall that we see ahead of us for the coming three or so years.
- Conduct a Mid-year Stewardship Campaign
- Conduct an end of the year push for extra donations to fill the budget gap .. nearly $200,000 this year.
- Establish an Operating Reserve Fund from the proceeds from the Parking Lot Sale for the next three years….. up to$600,000. (For 2025, $250K; for 2026, $200K; for 2027, 150.00.)
- Reduce the Budget by cutting costs.
In order to encourage a larger discussion about this concern, there will be Town Hall Meetings this summer.
June 22 – Topic: “Listening to You” at 11 – 11:30am We will have a panel of leaders taking note of your questions and concerns.
August 17 – Topic: “Reviewing and Refining” what was shared in June.
