The Men’s Breakfast group meets from 8:00 – 9:15 a.m. on the second and fourth Tuesdays each month from September through May. We are always looking for more folks who would be interested in becoming part of the group. The intent of the breakfast is twofold. First is the social aspect. Each meeting a volunteer brings something to eat for breakfast, usually doughnuts, and we make coffee in the kitchen and take about half an hour to let those attending discuss what’s new and any issues that have come up in their lives. At the end of the social session, a prayer is offered, and we move into the second half where we play a 30 minutes DVD on a religious topic. We have been successful in finding wonderful DVDs from The Great Courses series. We are currently watching a twenty-four lecture series on The New Testament by Bart Ehrman. After we watch the DVD, we take the last 15-20 minutes to discuss the material that was presented. The group does not meet in the summer and skips Tuesdays that are on holiday weeks.
