FRIENDSHIP POTLUCK is a fellowship program open to all members and their guests. Its purpose is to gather with old and new friends over a delicious meal followed by a speaker or program of general interest. Dinner starts promptly at 6:00 pm; bring a dish to pass and your own table service (coffee, tea and hot water is provided). The Friendship Potluck meets 4 times a year, October through May.
These events are always publicized in the Canyon Echo as well as the Sunday bulletins. Attendees are requested to sign-up so that there is space for all.
2ND SUNDAY LUNCH is held four times a year following the 10:30 am worship service. The entrée is provided. Diners bring a salad, veggie or dessert for 6-8 people (home cooked or from the supermarket deli). A one (or more) dollar donation to defray cost of the entrée is appreciated, but not required. All are welcome.
PICK-A-PARTY EVENTS, held every other year, is a fun, lively time when members of the church decide to have a gathering for some social purpose. Members of the congregation “pick” what parties they want to attend and pay the established fee. The funds raised from Pick-A-Parties go in part to Missions and to help other Christian causes to be determined by the Congregational Life Commission.
TREASURE SALE, held every other year, features gently used items donated by everyone, a “special” treasure room featuring upscale items, a book room, craft vendors and a silent auction room of extra special donated items. The money raised goes to a designated fund selected by the Treasure Sale committee with the approval of the Church Council.
