Carlson Library

There’s nothing like a good book to lift your spirits. The Carlson Library is located in the Christian Education corridor of the church. It is the room behind the glass blocks. Circulation is for a one month period. Individuals sign out their own books and return them to a box on the desk.

In addition to the Bible and books about the Bible, the collection has a large variety of inspirational books as well as titles dealing with Christian life and theology. There is a limited section of fiction, some which were book club titles and others which demonstrate Christian values. There is also a small biography section. There is a small section of children’s books, many of general interest and others dealing with Bible stories and people in the Bible. It is a small room with limited shelf space. We cannot try to be a public library, but only a library serving the needs of the members and supporting the programs of the church.

Book Club

The Book Club meets on the third Friday of each month year round in Classroom A at 1:00 pm. Anyone interested in discussing the book is welcome whether you are a church member or not. We have a variety of books from which we choose, fiction and nonfiction from suggestions of the participants. We are always looking for new material from members, new or old. Our book selections are listed in the church bulletin, or contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for information. All are welcome!  The next meeting is October 21st at 1:00 pm.  We are reading The Sisters Weiss by Naomi Ragen.

Come join us for Tai Chi Chih, a series of nineteen meditative movements plus one that can be done either standing or sitting so it is accessible to all. Individual instruction is also available with accredited instructors.

There are many health benefits to practicing these movements:
– helps the body let go of muscle tension,
– calms and relaxes the mind and body,
– improves body balance and coordination,
– stimulates the Chi (life force) in the body,
– helps the mind to be still and at peace and know you are one with God.

Tai Chi Chih is held Monday and Friday mornings throughout the year at 7:45 am in Classroom A.
