The Church of the Red Rocks was founded in 1960 by a small group of interested residents of Sedona. For a more detailed and interesting history of how the Church of the Red Rocks came to full fruition, reference our 2010 Jubilee Year page. Over the past 30 years, we feel blessed to not only have grown to over 600 members and friends from all parts of the world and all walks of life, but our mission outreach has touched and improved countless lives, both here in Arizona and around the world.
Our congregation is affiliated with The United Church of Christ (UCC) which is a blend of four principal traditions --- Congregational, Christian, Evangelical, and Reformed, churches that have made a profound difference in U.S. religious and political history. Click here to quickly see it a capsule summary of the famous "UCC Firsts" in America.
In 1957, these original four Christian communities, then two, united to form the United Church of Christ. In the Southwest, we cooperate with the Presbyterian, Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), and the Moravian Church in areas of new church development and other mission ventures.
