The second fund is the Legacy Endowment Fund, which was established seven years ago to assist in the ongoing operations of the church. All gifts and earnings were to be retained until the fund reached $100,000, at which point earnings could be distributed to support the annual budget. 2015 is the first year that we have been able to take advantage of this fund for operational costs, and we hope that over time, earnings from this fund will become a significant resource.
Additionally, the commission is active in encouraging members to consider either current or legacy gifts to these two funds. In support of this concept, CRR sponsored two programs in 2014 to provide information to our members regarding issues that face all of us at some point in our lives. The first was presented by a former member (who has moved to Florida) regarding Senior Living facilities and the issues that arise in the decision making process. The second was an Estate Planning Seminar presented by a local attorney. Both were well attended and very much appreciated by our members. The commission will continue to provide opportunities for members to learn more about these and other related issues.
